Privacy Policy (GDPR)

Privacy Notice Introduction.

This privacy notice is inline with the European GDPR directive and covers visitors to our websites and apps. It sets out how we use personal data that we hold about you and gives information on how to exercise your legal rights. 

In this notice ‘we’ and ‘our’ means AirMyOpinion (AMO) which operates this platform. 

Personal data can include:

• Your telephone number

• Your age, within a specific range

• Your postcode

• Your location

• Your Gender

We may also ask whether you have a political allegiance, and this information may be used by third parties applicable to that particular allegiance. You do not have to provide this information but by agreeing to supply this, you submit that we may ask for polling in respect of that.


1 -  What data do we process about our visitors or application users?

1.1 If you download our AMO app you agree to provide us with your rage age and your postcode, and agree to allow us to use your texting facility to vote and to verify location. Texts will be sent to standard priced mobile number, generally free in bundles, or within bundles.

1.2 If you contact our Customer Services team, we will need your telephone number and your postcode as well as full details of your query. 

1.3 We do not hold personal data such as name or date of birth, but simply require knowing what you are polling, or voting on, and your location.


2 - What do we use this data for?

2.1 - All data utilised from our customers is in accordance with GDPR directive.

2.2 - To run polls across the country in respect of political, social and media interests.

2.3 - Personalising the polling you see on the app and the website so that it is more relevant to you, in terms of local interests, and political interests.

2.4 - Improving the design and style of the app and the website.

2.5 - Sending you service messages relating to polling that is relevant to you.

2.6 - Dealing with any query or complaint you submit to our customer services team.

2.7 - Sending you push notifications from our apps.

2.8 - We also log and use information about any service errors or interruptions that you have experienced in order to help us create fixes and to make technical improvements to our website


3 - How we may contact you.

3.1 - From time to time we may contact you by push notification to give you service information. 

3.2 - Occasionally we may ask you if you would like to participate in market research, or respond to you if you have made a complaint or have logged a query.


4 - What is our legal basis for processing personal data?

4.1 - We will only use your personal data for the purpose of running polls, and feeding that information back to our website if we have your specific consent to do so. 


5 - Legitimate interests.

5.1 - The legitimate interest pursued by us to analyse our website traffic in order to maintain the service, for example:

5.1.1 - Monitoring successful page loads or error messages.

5.1.2 - Determing the origin of website visitors such as Google or other 3rd party sites.

5.2 - AMO uses cookies on its website, You will be greeted by a banner requestiing your consent to use cookies.


 6 - How can you access and update your personal information?

6.1 - You can ask for a copy of the personal information we may hold about you, or for your data to be deleted via customer services.

7 - How long do we keep your personal information for?

7.1 - We will keep your information only for as long as it is relevant and useful for the purpose for which it was originally collected.

7.2 - A record of a customer service query is retained for at least three years from the date it was submitted to us.

7.3 - We may need to retain your data for a longer period if there is a legal claim or if we are required to so by any regulation.


8 - Who will we share your personal information with?

8.1 - We share data on our website and your votes are housed via a secure data management platform.  

8.2 - Third parties are not able to access this data themselves, but can see a vote has occurred, without being able to attribute it to any phone number or associated poscode.

8.3 - We reserve the right to disclose your personal information to comply with applicable laws and government or regulatory bodies' lawful requests for information.

8.4 - We may also have to release information because of a legal requirement on us or pursuant to a court order.

8.5 - We may transfer, sell or assign any of the information described in this Privacy Notice to third parties as a result of a sale, merger, consolidation, change of control, transfer of assets or reorganisation of our business.


9 - Using children’s personal data.

9.1 - We do not aim our services to anyone under the age of 16.


10 - Data Protection Officer.

10.1 - We have appointed a Data Protection Officer in accordance with the GDPR regulations. 

10.1 - The DPO has in place policies to deal with any potential data breaches or security issues.


11- Your rights:

11.1 - Right of access – you have the right to request a copy of the data that we hold about you.

11.2 - Right of rectification – you have a right to correct data that we hold about you that is inaccurate or incomplete.

11.3 - Right to be forgotten – you can ask for the data we hold about you to be erased from our records.

11.4 - Right to restriction of processing – you can ask for us to restrict the way we process your data.

11.5 - Right to object – you have the right to object to our processing your data where we are relying on a legitimate interest in order to process it.

11.6 - Right to withdraw your consent – you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
